Home Light
A meditation of light and shadow, presented as diptychs.
Even before the novel coronavirus captured the world in 2020, when life was less restricted than during the peaks of the pandemic, I began appreciating shapes and textures that were hidden within rays of sunshine streaming into my home. Our eyes are trained to ignore the details in these thin blasts of sunshine. Instead we focus on the shadows.
Home Light is about searching for slivers of beauty hidden in plain sight. By focusing on (and exposing for) bright light, surrounding shadows fade to black, creating a natural frame; or in the case of one of the photographs, a simple silhouette.
